AI Discoverability

ReadMe now supports AI Discoverability, letting AI agents read, navigate, and use your docs through features like LLMs.txt, agent link headers, and content signals. This release also adds WYSIWYG editing for more block types, new enterprise controls, and a wide range of bug fixes.

Improvements

  • New projects now have an MCP server enabled by default, so AI agents can start working with your docs without any extra setup.
  • Admins can now restrict who's allowed to share a project's branches, limiting it to admins only or admins and editors.
  • Accordion, Cards, Columns, and Tabs blocks are now editable directly as WYSIWYG blocks in the docs editor.
  • Added a project setting to stop collecting visitor email and company name in Doc Metrics, for teams that want usage data without storing personal information.
  • Changelog posts can now have their search engine visibility turned off, matching other page types.
  • Sidebar category titles are now translated along with the rest of a project's content the first time it's translated into a new language.
  • Ask AI now includes more context about the project it's answering for, reducing hallucinated or broken links in its answers.

Bugs Eaten by Owlbert

  • Fixed generated code snippets and request body values sometimes carrying over from a previously viewed endpoint or a different oneOf variant after switching.
  • Fixed array parameters silently dropping their unique items constraint in generated API Reference schemas.
  • Fixed Try It requests sending empty object query parameters as blank values instead of leaving them out.
  • Fixed API definitions with server URLs built from variables sometimes producing a duplicated protocol in the base URL.
  • Fixed circular references in API definitions sometimes being under-detected during validation and bundling, with clearer messaging when unresolved circular references remain.
  • Fixed anchor links leaving the linked heading hidden behind the sticky page header.
  • Fixed auto-generated page descriptions, used in social previews and search snippets, showing raw variable placeholders and image filenames instead of resolved text.
  • Fixed admins signed in through a custom login integration being unable to view API definitions despite having the right role.
  • Fixed Docs Audit linter scores changing between re-runs on unchanged content.
  • Fixed Ask AI silently failing to respond when a project's configured AI model was no longer available, and added a warning when a saved model isn't supported anymore.
  • Fixed Ask AI and AI Agent conversations sometimes failing to return a response.
  • Fixed the inline AI Writer tool inserting generated content above an empty Tabs block instead of inside it.
  • Fixed pages with large embedded HTML tables or widgets failing to translate.
  • Fixed enterprise child projects being unable to inherit their group's AI Discovery OAuth settings automatically.
  • Fixed several editor issues, including crashing on pages with very large code blocks, content inside Tabs and Card blocks sometimes duplicating or overwriting when edited or pasted, and the slash menu incorrectly opening after an existing slash character.
  • Fixed the Reusable Content block menu appearing far from its actual position in Safari.
  • Fixed branches sometimes being attributed to the wrong user as their creator, and collaborative editing sessions not syncing page title and description changes in real time.
  • Changed the AI panel keyboard shortcut from Ctrl+I to Ctrl+/ so it no longer conflicts with italics on Windows.
  • Fixed enterprise audit logs incorrectly redacting non-sensitive changes made to child projects.
  • Fixed the Change Password form showing a generic error instead of the actual reason, like an incorrect current password.
  • Fixed team invitations allowing duplicate invites to someone already on the team or with a pending invite.
  • Fixed clicking a docs login email link only signing users into the docs site instead of establishing a full dashboard session.
  • Fixed MCP metrics graphs showing misleading flat zero-lines for days with no data, and inaccurate messaging for projects viewed during a quiet period.
  • Fixed moving a child project between enterprise groups leaving behind a broken git connection reference that could break repo listings for the whole group.
  • Fixed migrating large enterprise documentation projects to Git Sync sometimes failing partway through.
